About

My story

Hi - I'm Chalese.  I’ve always found meaning in connecting with people, understanding their unique gifts, and sharing in deep and open conversations.

My love of exploration brought me from New Zealand to London over 20 years ago. The plan to stay for two years gradually extended until I realised I had found my home. London became more than a travel-base, but a place to appreciate the fusion of cultures and ethnicities, to learn different approaches, and to expand my perspectives on life.

While my ultimate goal was to specialise in a people-focused profession, I recognised the value in understanding the reality of the business world and acquiring some life experience first. After over two decades of living and working in London, I’ve had first-hand insight into fast-paced and pressurised business environments across numerous industries, from start-ups to global corporates.

My journey as a coach began as a communications professional with a deep interest in people. I was drawn to coaching because of its positive, forward-focused nature and the meaningful impact it creates.  With the aspiration to combine the strong communication skills I had developed with my natural desire to empower people, I qualified as an accredited Executive Coach in 2014.

Vulnerability is the birthplace of connection and the path to the feeling of worthiness. If it doesn’t feel vulnerable, the sharing is probably not constructive.
— Brené Brown

For the next 10 years I managed a portfolio career as both a coach and a communications, brand and culture specialist - giving me a keen awareness of the critical challenges facing today’s leaders.  Alongside many highlights, I also experienced the lowlights – including the effects of prolonged stress and anxiety, the struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and the significant impact of unhealthy environments.  These situations not only strengthened my empathy, but taught me the importance of supporting others to gain confidence in using their voice and taking positive action.

I have continued to prioritise my personal development to complement my approach - qualifying as a certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner and EQ workshop facilitator, a Prosci Change Management Practitioner, and a Myers-Briggs Practitioner. With a strong desire to support female leaders in making an impact, I gained much from the Women’s Leadership Development Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

As a naturally warm, empathetic, and empowering coach, I partner with leaders to gain awareness of their core values, unique strengths and potential - drawing on these to lead authentically, manage challenges, and create positive impact.  Coupled with my certified coach training and experience, I offer a highly professional, realistic and collaborative approach.
